Imagine if your car was alive? It could think and talk and race and be famous and get lost in the dessert…
Lightning McQueen is an arrogant race car who gets stuck in a really tiny small miniscule pint-sized town in the middle of the desolate dessert. He has to complete some community service work before he can leave and compete in the BIG RACE. While stuck in this little hamlet, will Lightning learn some very important lessons?
I cannot saw all that much here except that Mater is one of the funniest Pixar characters in years. Mater gets his own short later on. Mater needs his own series. Buzz Lightyear got one, why not Mater?
One of the biggest screen legends of all time (see Cool Hand Luke and Cat On A Hot Tin Roof) marks his final role here playing the town mayor Doc Hudson. All the grace and power of that has made Paul Newman the star he is shines in every line he utters, every syllable he breathes. Pixar scored a coup with this talent.
Cars will definitely rev your engines with pulse pounding action and excitement. You will laugh and smile and feel warm all over. And you will want to give your own car a little hug as well. Go ahead, your car won’t mind.
The next high octane movie from the genius of Pixar is Brave, which opens Friday, June 22, 2012. Mark your calendars, for Brave is coming!
P.S. Cars is copyright 2012 to Pixar.
