What Is It?
Word On The Street is an annual festival filled with books and authors and activities. All revolving around our mutual love of the written word. It runs this year on Sunday, September 22nd, 2013, from 11am to 6pm, right in the heart of downtown Toronto at Queen’s Park. And best of all… FREE ADMITTANCE!
What To Do?
Visit Kids Street are for tons of stuff for the little ones, both in the reading department and the things to do department. Another section has lots and lots of booksellers. Another stroll will take you down areas filled with small press and magazines. And to top it all off? Plenty of author readings!
What Is Really Special?
In Kids Street, one booth with feature the great Canadian graphic novel True Patriot. Go by, say Scoop sent ya, and get J. Torres, Jack Briglio, and the rest of the crew to sign your copy. Also, at a booth just north of Wellesley Street is Wattpad. A website filled with literally millions of stories of all types and styles, including some by moi, with all copyright resting with the actual authors. It is a great place for reading, mobile or otherwise. And if you stick around Wellesley Street and visit the This Is Not The Shakespeare Stage at 3pm, you can meet the YA author Maureen McGowan. She is the writer of the Dust Chronicles and has laughed at my jokes.
