Books Read 2016!!

2016 was another banner year for moi book reading wise, with 25 volumes being consumed!

Lots of Geek stuff of course, some mysteries, a thriller, and a fiction in a pear tree. I also continue with quite a few YA reads as well, and happily dived back into Judy Blume.

But my big big big new development, was that after almost twenty years, I finally started beaming down on that huge hunk of Star Trek books I have. Long ago in the 1980s and 1990s, I inhaled Star Trek books by the ton, but walked away when the crazy crossover “epics” became too much of a convoluted cashgrab, IMHO.

So my reading for 2016 was:

The Silkworm by Robert Galbraith, aka J.K. Rowling

Man of Steel novelization by Greg Cox

Superman The Power Within by Roger Stern and Curt Swan

True Patriot by various

Superman in the Forties by various

Career of Evil by Robert Galbraith, aka J.K. Rowling

About A Boy by Nick Hornby, in a readalong with @Rebeccahh95

Angel Love by Barbara Slate

‘Mazing Man by Bob Rozakis and Stephen DeStefano

Seconds by Bryan Lee O’Malley

Captain America Truth by Robert Morales and Kyle Baker

Soon I Will Be Invincible by Austin Grossman

The Shining Girl by Lauren Beukes on the kindle, my first book on an ereader

Harry Potter and the Cursed Child by J.K. Rowling

A Wrinkle In Time by Madeleine L’Engle

Bridge To Terabithia by Katherine Paterson

She of the Mountains by Vivek Shraya

Star Trek Prime Directive by Judith and Garfield Reeves-Stevens

Star Trek Spock’s World by Diane Duane

Star Trek The Next Generation Q Squared by Peter David

Wonder Woman True Amazon by Jill Thompson

Harriet Tubman The Road to Freedom by Catherine Clinton

Tales of a Fourth Grade Nothing by Judy Blume

Otherwise known as Sheila the Great by Judy Blume

Superfudge by Judy Blume

My absolute favourite book for 2016 has been Bridge To Terabithia by Katherine Paterson. Simply amazing with a real gut punch.

My second favourite book for 2016 was Captain America Truth by Robert Morales and Kyle Baker. A stunning tale with a real world feel.

What 2017 holds for my reading pleasure is a good guess. I hope to keep plugging away at Star Trek, and maybe hit the kindle some more. That’s the plan, but remember what they always say about plans!

Hope you all have great reading this year!!

…is currently reading Star Trek The Last Roundup by Christie Golden.  A sixth (or is it fifth?) Star Trek book in twenty years.
